Going way back to middle school 1965 to high school 1968, a friend, Chris Cormier, turned all of us kids on to Bob Dylan. Chris played a 12-string guitar, unusual at that time when all the guys bought cheap electric guitars from the Sears catalog [mine was a Sears Silvertone] and were playing Beatles and Paul Revere and the Raiders and yes those TV-created Monkees. But Chris knew every Dylan song by heart--all those complex lyrics and the chords, and sang pretty damned well. I don't think Chris got his due in those early days of rock, although the folk revival was really strong and Dylan quickly had one good foot in each world. We lived right down Mass Ave from Harvard Square--plenty of folk music. And to see this video and the smiling faces of the crowd--amazing how Dylan's fanbase grew and grew and never really faded. Watch Bruce Springsteen's intro when Dylan--and apparently the Beatles, were inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame. Springsteen has real down to Earth street soul. Thank the gods for all of these brilliant performers!

Sorry to say Bob Dylan is totally overrated. Poor voice, poor playing, solo just bad. He had his role in history, but thats it. Was my most disappointing concert I have ever been to. Left his "Show" after 2 songs. Sounded like mediocre country shit. Still dont know if he is as arrogant as he seems. Same here. I know the fanboys dont want to hear that, but this is just how it is.

This is a classic vid. Two legends of music come together to create a brilliant masterpiece. Both are different genres but exemplify the class they have to blend their styles to create a fantastic musical vid. Eric is absolutely humble in stepping back and giving Bob centre stage, even when playing his brilliant riffs. Bob shows he can really play along with Eric. A great fantastic vid. The music is simply iconic.
